Success Stories - Renee

Renee is the single mother of Nathan and Kaitlin who were living in various rental properties in Fremont for the over five years.  Renee wanted to get her children into a house in a nice neighborhood with a yard so that they could feel more comfortable with some much needed individual space and a place to call their own.  The local lenders told Renee that she could afford to purchase a home, but that she would need at least seven thousand dollars of her own in order to be able to get a loan.  Her realtor Blane referred Renee to Three Rivers to inquire about our first time home buyer assistance programs.

She completed our application and was eligible for the assistance she needed through our Purchase/Rehab/Resale program.  We were also able to upgrade the electrical panel to a 200 amp breaker service in the home, install an egress window in the basement for use of a family room located there, and numerous other small repairs to bring their home to the required Housing Quality Standards associated with the HOME funded programs.

Renee has said many times that without Three Rivers she would not have been able to buy her home.  She has also made application to Goldenrod Hills Weatherization to assist her in increasing the energy efficiency of her home.
